TEC.INN.
was founded in 1986 by Ing. Emo Agneloni, thanks to his knowledge and experiences achieved during the last 30 years of activity in the civil engineering industry.
Since the beginning of its activity, the new Company was specialized in the retrofit and structural strengthening field through special technologies by developing research and technological innovation..
The first important retrofit in 1986/87 concerned the restoration of the extra compound Headquarter of the Italian Ambassee in Mogadiscio - Somalia, using the béton plaqué technique. The work was realized in co-operation with SIKA Italia S.p.a., representing the materials' supplier, for MAE's account, the Foreign Office.
Since when born, TEC.INN. S.r.l. has stipulated important collaborations with the most prestigious Italian Universities, above all with the Departement of Engineering of the University of Bologna, promoting a testing campaign concerning the use of the innovative technologies for that time: the béton plaqué. In particular, in 1988 has been realized the first testing campaign, that has been jointly promoted by SIKA Italia S.p.a, thanks to the co-ordination of the Departement of Mechanics of Materials of the University of Bologna, concerning tests aiming to know the behaviour of real scale R.C. beams, strengthened through steel plates bonded at the intrados using epoxy resin. The experimental campaign carried on with tests realized on small specimens aiming to verify the effectiveness and the applicability of the Béton Plaqué technique sponsored by the ENEA-ANSALDO RESEARCH Laboratories of Boschetto, together with SIKA ITALIA S.p.a. and the Departement of Mechanics of Materials directed by Prof. A. Di Tommaso.
Moreover, the development of the scientific knowledge passed through the organization and participation to seminars and thematic meetings of international value, among which the first International Seminar "Plate Bonding - Technique" organized by the University of Sheffield - UK -, where it has been presented a paper titled "Strengthening and structural retrofitting through the Béton Plaqué technique". After that, TEC.INN. S.r.l. participated to the International Convention "Transportation Structures & Facilities" that took place in Washington and organized by ACI (American Concrete Institute), with the paper titled "Description of some examples of structural strengthening using the Béton Plaqué technique".
During the first years, until 1995, several applications using the béton plaqué technique have been realized; among these, the most important are:
- strengthening and restoration of the load bearing structures
of a mixed concrete-brick floor of the rooms interested
by the installation of a gamma camera at the S. Orsola Hospital
in Bologna;
- retrofit and strengthening of the load bearing members
of n. 3 arch bridges of S.S. n. 3 "Flaminia" for account
of Anas of Umbria;
- restoration and strengthening of the load bearing P.C. members of the viaduct "Ponte a Signa" of S.S. n. 325 at Km 92+500.
